That Fat Gal of Mine

As a tribute to my sweet Grandpa Forbush who passed away this past week, I have to share a wonderful memory of him. My grandpa was quite a colorful tease with bright twinkling blue eyes that lit up whenever he knew he had sucessfully pushed your buttons. In the Navy he learned a few "questionable" songs. I loved the times when he would sing them to us. My favorite is called "That Fat Gal of Mine." It goes:
"Warm in the winter,
Shady in the summertime,
That's what I love about that fat gal of mine!"
He like to sing this to my grandma who is a slim little vixen;)

I forgot about that song. Reading your post brought that smile on my face that I have lost since his passing,(replaced with tears). We are all going to miss him dearly.

Nicolette, I haven't checked your blog for a few days - and I didn't realize that your grandpa had passed away. I'm so sorry to hear that. And I feel bad that I didn't know sooner. I remember meeting him. He was a good man. I really liked him! That's sweet you would write that tribute to him. I know you will miss him. Write down your memories of him while they are fresh in your mind. They will be precious to you as the years go by.
