Florida critters are, to say the least...weird. I woke up this morning after a thuderous storm the night before and looked out the window to see....AN ARMADILLO IN OUR BACK YARD!!! There is an unchartered rainforest next door to us (okay, maybe a small exaggeration) and he must've wandered from there. Armando (It's an alias I'll refer to him as) was fairly large and kind of cute as he waddled back and forth grubbing his nose in the grass for who knows what sustanence. I didn't want too get to close, but he didn't seem to mind. Zac started making "Cooing" noises that I informed him "probably wouldn't scare Armando away, but might rather serve as a mating call."
Armando is gone now, but I'm hoping he will return soon. Anyone for a backyard barbeque?
**Addendum: Since seeing Armando, I've done a little research into armadillos and they are actually disgusting! They carry the bacteria for Leprosy, rabies, and other diseases! Nasty! Needless to say, I won't be getting too close and will have my dart gun ready.

AWESOME! I love it! I'm up for a BBQ with Armando anytime! ;)
That's awesome! Beats the snow and mice in your backyard. :0
Oh he is too cute!! Your lucky! All we get is mice, frogs, grasshoppers, and spiders in my yard!
Oooh, Cool! I would love to see Armando! Maybe if you learn what they like to eat, and put it out in a dish it will come back! I can just see Zac out back trying out his mating call. Ha!
How cute! I've never seen one in person. I'm glad you don't get alligators in your back yard, living in florida and all!
