This funny little girl has found her thumb and is sucking profusely on it! It is so stinking cute, but at the same time, I'm sure it's a bad habit that I have been indulging. What do I do? She'd rather suck her thumb than take a pacifier. She sucks her thumb even after she's eaten, and when I swaddle her tight to go to bed, sure enough, five minutes later, I hear "suck, suck, suck!"

I just love thumb suckers...i've never had one, and i think it is so dang cute......I wouldn't worry about it to much. I always say " enjoy it now, deal with it later"
I can hardly read your blog...maybe change the font to white? Anyhow-Paige found her thumb at 10 weeks I think-and still sucks it-I love it cuz no worry with pacifiers! She doesn't suck it all the time now-mostly when she is tired or bored and I just pull it out during the day and she'll keep it out-her thumb got a really bad blister on it for a few days but has been fine ever since! But at this age-I don't think it is something you can control-but I think it is better!
I also find it so cute when little babies suck their thumbs. Natalie started that habit when she was about Mayzee's age, and then it was like a month thing, she quit. I wouldn't worry too much about it yet. If she's a toddler and still sucking it, then you might have to take action!
Oh, thumb suckers are usually the happiest babies of all. They can calm themselves easily. There is really nothing you can do about it, so don't sweat it. I promise, she won't graduate from high school sucking her thumb. Megan quit the day a little boy in her kindergarten class started teasing her. She hasn't picked it up since.
Love it! I think its so DANG cute as well. I seriously love this little girl! (too bad I'm not going to be around to watch her...sniff, sniff.)
And I NEED that carmel brownie recipe...it seriously rocked all the desert table!!

I am sitting home alone blog stalking for the first time in months, and ran across your story about the breast or bottle feeding. I just starting laughing out loud. That is hilarious! Your little girl is adorable. My little guy just started sucking his thumb as well. I am not sure what to do either, but I do know it is sure convenient not to have to be looking for a passy all the time. Or licking it off because it fell in the dirt :)
